Nicole Simone
Nicole Simone was born and raised in New Jersey. Nicole has always had a deep love and appreciation for music. Nicole participated in multiple musical ensembles throughout her childhood. After graduating high school, Nicole made the journey from New Jersey to Nashville to attend Fisk University, where she studied Vocal Performance. During her time at Fisk, Nicole was honored to be a member of the world renown, Grammy and Dove Award winning, Fisk Jubilee Singers™.
After her matriculation at Fisk, Nicole taught and founded music and arts departments at several Nashville Charter schools. Nicole also continued to sing professionally. Nicole has sang background for and recorded with a multitude of musical talents such as Johnny Cash Jr., Louis York, Mandisa Hundley, and most recently, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder.
Nicole currently sings with several vocal ensembles. In January of this year, Nicole performed with Inversion Vocal in the production of “Steal Away.” And in February, she was a featured soloist with the W. Crimm Singers’ production, “From These Pews.” Nicole is also celebrating her 10th year as Musical Director for her church, Greater Heights MBC, here in Nashville.
Nicole will be making her Nashville Symphony debut in Hannibal Lokumbe’s The Jonah People: A Legacy of Struggle and Triumph in the role of Yemaya.
With all of the accomplishments she has achieved, Nicole states her greatest accomplishment is being the mother of three amazing children, Malachi, Jael, and Eden.
