Galen Fott
Galen Fott is a Nashville-based actor, singer, director, animator, and puppeteer. He has appeared previously with the Nashville Symphony as Papa Dinosaur in the Ben Folds/Mo Willems Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs, as the Narrator in Carnival of the Animals, as Steve the Stupendous in Music and Magic, and as Lollipop (the Monster) in Dr. Freakuency’s Major Monster Bash.
Galen recently appeared with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in the title role of Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Missing Maestro for Symphonica Productions. He performed this role previously with the Utah Symphony.
In Nashville theatres, Galen was most recently seen as Burl Sanders in Smoke on the Mountain with Studio Tenn. Other recent roles include Father in Ragtime (Nashville Rep), Mr. Mister in The Cradle Will Rock (Nashville Opera), Leontes in The Winter’s Tale (Nashville Shakespeare Festival), King Triton and Chef Louis in The Little Mermaid (Nashville Children’s Theatre), and Daddy Warbucks in Annie (Chaffin’s Barn).
In 1991, he originated the role of Gaston in the still-running Beauty and the Beast stage show at Walt Disney World. Other performing highlights include the national tour of Mame starring Juliet Prowse, singing at Carnegie Hall, and with Houston Grand Opera. For Music Theatre International’s official reference recordings, Galen sang the roles of Frollo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, King Triton in The Little Mermaid, Pulitzer in Newsies, and Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast.
Originally from Clarksville, Galen received a BFA in Theatre Performance from the University of Memphis. And in his other career as a film director and animator, Galen has adapted over two dozen children's books into award-winning films for Scholastic/Weston Woods. He lives in Nashville with his wife Laura.
